AtheNA Multi-Lyte® Test System

The AtheNA Multi-Lyte® Test System is a multiplexed, fluorescent, bead-based system designed to simultaneously perform multiple assays from a single sample all in one well. It offers a simple and streamlined alternative to IFA and ELISA testing, providing improved clinical sensitivity and comparable clinical specificity in a labor-saving, automation-friendly format. The AtheNA assay protocol features only two 30-minute incubations with windows of +/- 10 minutes. Customized software has been designed for easy data reduction, concise specimen reports and user-friendly data management applications.

AtheNA systems available today include the AtheNA Multi-Lyte® ANA Test System, which simultaneously performs ANA screening and reflex testing for 9 specific auto-antibodies (SSA, SSB, Sm, RNP, Scl-70, Jo-1, dsDNA, Centromere B and Histone) in a single well, the AtheNA Multi-Lyte® ANCA Test System, the AtheNA Multi-Lyte® Rheumatoid Factor Test System, the AtheNA Multi-Lyte® TPO/Tg Test System, the AtheNA Multi-Lyte® EBV IgG Test System and the AtheNA Multi-Lyte® EBV IgM Test System.

AtheNA technology is not limited to autoimmune testing. Its multiplexing capability promises to revolutionize other areas of diagnostic testing as well. Virtually any assay that can be performed in an ELISA microtiter format can be adapted to the AtheNA platform. In fact, in addition to antibody tests for the Epstein-Barr virus, several other infectious disease applications are currently under development including ToRCH, HSV 1 & @ and MMRV.

AtheNA Multi-Lyte® is a registered trademark of Zeus Scientific, Inc.  All AtheNA Multi-Lyte® serological assays are developed and manufactured by Zeus Scientific, Inc., and distributed by Inverness Medical Professional Diagnostics in the United States.  Each is composed of a bench-top flow analyzer and differentially dyed and distinguishable microspheres developed by, and under license from, the Luminex Corporation.

DIASTATTM  Anti-CCP

A highly sensitive and specific second-generation peptide-based test, DIASTATTM Anti-CCP is an ELISA based on the detection of autoantibodies against the cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) containing modified arginine residues in human serum or plasma. Enabling early and accurate diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), the Anti-CCP assay provides an additional tool in the diagnosis and management of patients with RA.

Features include:

  • Diagnosis of RA in early synovitis patients
  • Differentiation of RA from other inflammatory arthritides
  • Differential diagnosis of RA from other connective tissue diseases such as erosive systemic lupus erythematosus
  • Confirmation of diagnosis in seronegative RA
  • Potential to identify patients who will develop a more severe form of RA at disease onset
  • Potential to monitor therapeutic effectiveness
DIASTATTM is a registered trademark of Axis-Shield Diagnostics Limited (UK).  DIASTATTM Anti-CCP is manufactured by Axis-Shield, and distributed by Inverness Medical Professional Diagnostics in the United States.

ELISA cardiac risk assessment tests

Homocysteine and MacraTM  Lp(a) are ELISA kits that quantitatively measure two important cardiac risk markers: homocysteine and lipoprotein (a). An elevated serum or plasma homocysteine level is increasingly viewed as a strong and independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Numerous studies since the early 1970s have associated elevated levels of Lp(a) with increased risk of coronary artery disease. The Lp(a) assay is cleared under 510(k) for monitoring levels of Lp(a) and for predictive coronary risk assessment.

Homocysteine and Macra™ Lp(a) are manufactured by Axis-Shield and Trinity Biotech Plc (Ireland), respectively, and distributed by Inverness Medical Professional Diagnostics in the United States.
