Osteomark® NTx provides accurate, quantitative measurement of NTx levels as a marker of bone resorption.  When used together with a Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test, it yields important information to assess bone mass status and to monitor patients with osteoporosis.

Osteomark® NTx  provides the measurement of the cross-linked N-telopeptides of bone type I collgen (NTx), thereby helping professionals to assess their patients’ need for treatment.  NTx is a specific biochemical indicator of bone resorption that is generated as the result of osteoclast activity on bone.  The NTx molecule is specific to bone due to the unique amino acid sequence and orientation of the cross-linked alpha-2 (I) N telopeptide.

Osteomark® NTx assays are sensitive and specific assays that can be used to indicate subtle changes in levels of bone resorption. NTx can easily be measured in urine and serum using ELISA formats.
